Jake's POV

The bridges I burned,

Pure heart turned.

Pushed you away,

Yet I want to stay.

I saw your message,

Full of anger and rage.

Cut me off and move forward.

While I can't because I'm a coward,

I can't patch her broken wings.

She gave me everything, For me, she would risk anything.

Without her, I'm nothing.

Cheating and leaving are thick headed things.

She was the greatest fantasy,

The element of her fire was warm and sweet within her empathy.

Taking the right path, she led me on.

I need love that was once owned.

Give me what I want,

I was nonchalant.

I took you for granted,

Pride and ego I chose and left you shredded.

It's better off this way,

I never said the things I needed to say.

Flaming pit I lay,

My life is a price to pay.

Choices of path suddenly regret,

Knives I twist to her would never forget.

I found someone easier,

Hate to admit she was still better.

I would miss you forever,

I can't pick the pieces together.

I gave her the role of a backburner,

Realizing she was the bravest soldier.
